Massive Fuel Leak under carbs

I wish i could pin point the leak but it goes crazy.
I turned off the Petcock to run the fuel out the lines/bowl.
10 min later its still running. taching thru 1-6ish

Im a car mechanic and looking at a bike engine crosses my eyes.

I also dont like throwing parts at something to see what fixes it.
Petcock kit.. $30ish
new Petcock $60ish

Where should i start?

first off, is your fuel pet cock marked Off, On, RES, or is it labled with Off, On, Prime? the ones labled prime will allow fuel to drain when set to prime... but it sounds like a stuck float.

Either way it's a stuck float. Probably something lodged in the float needle, some crud or a chunk of something. The petcock should shut off the fuel if your bike is newer than about 90. And then the floats should shut it off too... If the petcock has PRI on it, then in the PRI position it lets fuel flow freely. It would help to know the year. But definitely the float is stuck open. You might need a petcock kit, and to pull and clean the carbs.

Res > Off > ON

pm sent,

For giggles i ran the bike the other day. After the "Flood" i turned the petcock off, started it up again to run the fuel out of the carbs. 10 min later its still running, no leaks.

I really need to rebuild my carbs also, if anyone can point me in the right direction for the internals etc.. I would appreciate it. ( ive read the sticky) My Rear cyl is really hot and the front is cold.

I have rode it.. and have a burn inside my left leg to prove it

petcock kit:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FUEL-...Q5fAccessories

They are quoting an international shipping price to my postal code in Canada, I think. Get to the site independently for an accurate shipping fee.
