"Air mix screws"

Hi everyone,

I have V&H cruzers, and I'm experiencing the popping/backfiring.

In the Vulcan Verses, the "air mix screw" is mentioned several times. I looked through chapter 2 of the Kawa MSM, and I didn't find the words "air mix screw." What are these screws called in the MSM?

Thanks,

In Clymer's they're labled as "pilot adjust screws." They may also be called "fuel mixture screws" since they regulate the balance of fuel/air going into the carbs. They're located under the vacuum port (brass nipple) on each carb - if you have trouble seeing 'em, could be that yours are still covered by the lead plug that has to be put over 'em at the factory.

Got it. Thanks.

Now I just need to buy a smaller screwdriver.

Yeah, the names for them are endless, but "air mix screws" is the farthest from the truth. They only regulate fuel for the idle mix.
