Loose hose or lost mind?

So I got the bike out the other day and was cleaning it up from sitting and noticed a loose hose off the carb that I don’t recall seeing before. Can anyone help me here. Is this supposed to be loose here? If not, where should it go?

The bike runs fine and isles fine. Backfires a bit at hi rpms but could just be the older fuel from the fall. I’ve ran it several time over the winter.

If you look just to the right of the spark plug boot you’ll see what I’m taking about.

Looks close to the size of the rear tank vent. Might have to follow it to the other end, or jiggle the tank vent hose at the front of the seat.
