OK the gas cap that was seven dollars shipped came in. As you can expect since it’s a China model you’re going to end up with a magnesium frame and a light sheet metal top nothing like the cast heavy duty one that Kawasaki gives you but it works and that’s what matters. Also I have included a shot of the stock gas cap and the replacement gas cap and you can see the way the tank has the indention at the bottom that Kawasaki merely added the round sides to the already existing gas cap design they’ve used for 40 years which is why this gas cap fits and works.
Considering there are no replacement caps for the VN 750 and this one from a KZ is literally the same cap without the wings and fits perfectly you cannot beat this also worth mentioning the rubber seal that comes with the replacement will fit the stock gas cap if you just need a nice new seal and it’s cheaper than you can get the seal for anywhere.
Lastly it is worth mentioning that our gas caps are not keyed you can turn the Tumblr with anything so you don’t have to worry about having a different key you can use your stock bike key on the replacement
where were you able to find one? I've found similar eBay ones, but they are missing the vent hole and the latch does retract far enough to actually open
You can get new OEM P/N 51049-1139 $92 + tax from RevZilla. Does not include keys but the tumbler from your old cap can be removed and inserted in the new cap.
Also make sure you install the rubber vent hole seal and rubber mount screw seals or it will definitely leak.
