setting floats

Hi I am new here I have a friend that has a 86 700 His wife passed away a few months ago and he asked me to fix the carbs on his bike so he could ride it I have done carbs on four wheelers a goldwing and some cb750s so I am not new at this I have the carbs clean through my ultrasonic cleaner and I am ready to reassemble My question is how do you set the float level in these I really do not want to buy a repair manual and I know that is what should be done I hope some one can help me get him riding again thanks for the help Mike

Shouldn't need to reset the float level, but you can make sure the floats open the needle when the ridge in the float is pointed at the notch in the float body. There's a little alignment mark there.
