Carb problems?

My bike is running fine when it is standing straight and rpms are reving up very rapidly. If I lean the bike or it is placed on the side stand, there is some kind of delay in reving up. If I turn the throttle suddenly open when the bike is leaned, it takes a little moment before rpms started to rise and it sounds like engine is not firing properly. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Another question: Is it necessary to adjust the carbs before mufflers are replaced? I made new mufflers and now I have straight pipes, so I wanted to know how to adjust the carbs. The sound is better now and I these mufflers are have to be long-lasting, because I used stainless steel. Appearance is also good after polishing.

straight pipes means no back pressure im sure there had to be some sort of adjustment dont ask me what it is im sure lance will be chiming in soon with the answer.... however first things first put in some seafoam in the tank and let her run a while should clean her out....

you also said its not running quite right sounds funny try unhooking the plugs (one cylinder at a time and see if theres any change from your discription your running on one cylinder...
is the exhaust the only mod u did?

finland sea foam may not be an option... http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUpTechGas.htm ... this is the stuff im referring to can u get something similar?

Nothing to worry about, when the bike is on the side stand the floats will close the needle valve before they are full of fuel and also creates an air pocket on the right carb pilot jet. It will make the bike sound like it is running out of fuel. This is normal and once the bike is upright the carbs will fill to the proper level.

Normaly you do not have to adjust the carbs when replacing the mufflers. Take it for a ride and see how it does.

I take it you replaced the bevel gear bearing.

Yes, I replaced the bevel gear bearing and it was quite easy operation after I managed to get the right bearing. Finally, I replaced OEM bearings with bearings those have different bearing numbers, but similar specifications. I have not tested my bike yet, because the snow has not totally melted and the temperature is quite low. Maybe next week I will take the first ride of this season and find out how my bike really works.

The winter was here in Finland long as usually and I have lots of time for maintenance and modifications. I just finished my custom seat project and I am very satisfied with the final result. I will soon add some photos of my modifications to my gallery.

As you doupt, here in Finland sea foam is not an option. I think it is possible to find similar gas additives from other manufacturers. I have never tried this kind of additives but maybe I would try if I managed to find it somewhere. It might be funny to see how it works even if I don't have any problems.
