Carb Trouble

Hi Folks,

After about 2 hours and a few beers I finally got the carbs pulled yesterday. I still can't believe how tight the fit was. Anyway, I have a few cracked hoses which I need to replace which is pretty easy, but upon inspection I found a few other pieces which are broken that I need help identifying.

The first is this little rubber piece which covers the brass gold piece shown in the first picture below.

Second is a broken plastic piece which fits over another gold/brass piece and attaches to a hose shown in pictures 2-4 below.

Lastly, as I was pulling the carbs, I noticed that a hose wasn't connected to anything. Shown in the last picture below. Any idea where it goes?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Brett

Here's a better picture of the random hose that wasn't attached to anything.

Okay, so I figured out that the broken piece is the plastic end of the fuel inlet elbow, and that there is a brass replacement piece that Harley carries. Looks like taking the old brass piece out is going to be a bitch.

Still not sure what the little broken plug piece is called though. Can I use RTV to plug it?

I can't figure out what that last pic is of, either. Does it come from the main airbox?

Lol and a work buddy just told me that the broken plug is a vacuum plug! That’s literally how little I know. At least it’s all getting figured out.

Ubertalldude,
That’s a great question. I will figure out what the other end attaches to when I get home from work tonight and let you know!
