Reading up on the Ear Shave but...

I ride in the rain a lot around here. Anyone done this mod but built some sort of splash protection for the air filters?

A member here by the name of "wkrizan" addressed this issue when he shaved his, but I don't know what he did, if anything, exactly. Look him up and shoot him a PM, he'll fill you in on the details.

For wet conditions use the UNI-FILTER PK-92 filter kit instead of the K&N's.

FWIW, I've never heard of any problems in rain with the K&Ns, in all the posts I've ever read concerning this issue; here, the Yahoo group, or VROC. I've had no problems myself, riding 200 miles straight thru a downpour, with the PK-92s.
