flat battery after heavy rain

Hi guys , Had a flat battery twice now after heavy rain, The second time had motorcycle cover over it but still did it.? In between runs and charges fine, left it with 12.9v, Checked today after storm reads 0, So now charging up battery, Why is this happening ? Anyone advise, Thanks Jethro.

Vn 750 A2 1986 rebuilt engine, crank shaft, half casing,shell bearings,con rods,rear cylinder head,oil pump,water pump ,(had ceased bearing rusted up),tie bar upgrade,clutch basket drilled,front cylinder cam chains,toc springs,stator,shaved, rectifier,agm battery,solenoid ,starter motor (used) re-spray ongoing.

check the wire harness you may have something wrong with it, and will make short when gets wet, check light, handle bar connectors and switches as well.

check also the electrical accessories cables that are loss on the right panel, and there is also another pair on front by the headlight, if they get wet they may consume power and drain the battery.

Ok will do, just thinking maybe a good idea to fit an on/off switch just in front of the positive terminal to isolate battery when not in use

I do need to look at the ignition switch as I never had it apart and looking through forums it seems this is a part that can be troublesome.

Update on battery drain, Well got round to putting battery back on after re-charge and when connecting negative terminal the fan started up, So disconnected the radiator fan thermo switch and no drain, So I think this is the problem . I looked on Kawasaki UK for replacement and they want 90 US dollars + postage for one, But on ebay I can get one made by caltric from USA for half that including postage, So my order is placed hopefully this does the fix.
