Key question

Just picked up a nice '95. Came with 2 std. keys but also a third small Kawasaki key. PO thinks it's for a fork lock somewhere around the gooseneck. I can't find a key slot anywhere. Anyone know what this litlle key is for?

Thanks

The only lock for the forks (steering) is the ignition lock, all the way counter-clockwise.
I believe (atleast going by the micro-fiche) there was a chain lock that came with new Vulcan's as part of the tool kit. Many times, when a bike is bought used, that lock is gone.
Could be that's what the small key is for.

Check and see if the small key fits gas cap and helmet locks?

Small key is for the chain lock that came with the bike. This is detailed in the owners manual (if you have it). Look in the bottom of the glove box for the chain lock. Mine was all balled up and hardly noticeable.

Ignition, fuel cap, helmet lock all keyed the same. I'll look for the chain lock when I get home. Thanks for the feedback.

This begs the question of why would a shaft driven bike have a chain lock? Or would this be for some massive chain to attach the bike to an immovable object? I do know that at one time it was the thing to put a small lock in a hole in the front brake rotor.

Not a lock for the chain. It is about maybe 12" of chain, wraps through the rim and around a shock, for instance.
