By any chance did you move the kill switch picking it up? Did you try starting it with the sidestand up? Is there any damage to the clutch switch? Have you removed the left sidecover to see if any electrics got wet or out of place? Does your bike have a maintenance free battery? I think more info is needed here. Was it in neutral?

This thread is posted on the general discussion forum too. antiq gets to the heart of the matter a lot quicker than I did though.

By "no fire to start", do you mean it's not even trying to turn over, or it turns over and over and over, just doesn't start?

If any fuel leeked into the intakes or filled the carbs it will only click one time as you try and start it. keep it upright for a couple of hours and take of the intakes if you can. this will let the gas that's in there evaporate. Try it again, if that didn't work I'm out of suggestions unless your battery went belly up and leaked all the water out while on it's side.

When I was installing my Aux tank I had fuel overload issues. I had gas running out the intakes. The bike would only click once untill I let everything dry out. Not sure how it knows but it does...strings and mirrors I think.

Assuming you have power - you do have power, yes? Try holding in the kickstand switch and thumbing the starter. If it's bent as you said, it could be bent just enough to prevent it from working properly.
