Stator/Regulator Voltage @ 3000 RPM

Guys,
I just installed a Kawasaki OEM Stator and I thought it was a good idea to replace the battery and Rectifier/Regulator. I bought a Duracell battery from Batteries plus and bought an OEM Kawasaki Regulator/Rectifier from online Kawasaki dealer.

The bike is charging up Ok with no issues but using an Ohm meter, at 3000 RPM, I'm getting 15.2 V and if I use my old Regulator/Rectifier, I'm getting 14.7! When I asked the local dealer, they said the "New" regulator is overcharging!

So, I have connected my old one. Has anyone noticed this on a brand new Kawasaki OEM regulator charging at 15.2 ?? Is it defective?

Thanks!

OEM rectifiers are not good, even new. 15.2v is overcharging.

Whats wrong with your existing one that you wanted to change it?

If it's bad for whatever reason, you should probably upgrade to a MOSFET based kit from Home (Complete Mosfet Kit FH020AA DIY crimp or solder kit!)

Thanks for the reply....When my stator went out and wasn't charging the battery, I bought a OEM regulator/rectifier thinking it may be the regulator that's bad. However, after I tested the Stator I discovered the Stator needed to be replaced and it was bad. After I installed the new Stator, I decided to put my "New" Regulator on with a new battery.

I guess the new OEM Kawasaki regulator is defective since it's putting out 15.2 V? I have put my old original back on and it's giving me 14.7 V.

It's been 6 months, since I had it and there's no return /warranty on Electrical parts !! :-(

I would run your old one for right now, voltage seems perfect @ 14.7.

Just make sure you relocated it (moved it from the bottom of the battery tray, where it gets hot)
