Turn Signal Confirmation

Would somebody check to see if this is the same on their bike please? Mine is an '87.... My front turn signal lamps are two-state ( three wires with bulbs that have two bumps on the bottom ) but my rear turn signal lamps are only one-state ( two-wires with one bump on the bottom ).

Is that right?

Yup, same as my old original ones. They front signals were only using 2 of the 3 wires tho.

Some places had them setup as running lights or something?

Thanks! and now... hmmm... meh... i have three wires from the harness up front... and... took me twice ( murphy's law ) to figure out which hot was for which function... signal or running... okies... so i just assumed that the rears were the same... i designed an LED prototype for the rears.... was about to compare it to the bulb... and.... huh?? wtf? I wired the rear for 3 wire... running/signal.

Okies. so, i guess, the turn signal unit just increases the voltage when it wants to turn in the rear? or.... do you actually have running lights AND a signal out back? or are the rear just off then signal?

Bike is out in the lot... fender is up here in the loft with the battery.

Pretty sure the rear is just off and on again signals. When working on your conversion that's all I'd worry about unless you wanted to upgrade to a running light situation, which we already have the headlight lit for.

Thtanner is correct. The back are just signals. I recently found this out when verifying if all my lighting was working as it was designed.

who/what is "kcdqg"?? How much and how do they work? Just plug right in?

The simple problem between a bulb and just shoving a bunch of LED's into the same socket... LED's need to point to the lens.

I'm using bottle caps as forms.

I'm surprised yours weren't set up as running lights with all three wires used. They're wired in on every diagram I've seen for all years.

PO could have unplugged the running light portion. Only 2 of 3 leads were used.
