Electrical Short Somewhere

I did the two-wire mod and replaced the R/R and now I'm shorting out a black wire with a yellow stripe leading under the gas tank to a connection along with a white wire with yellow stripe from the wiring harness.

The insulation melted and caught on fire when I tried to start the bike which did not avail.

Looked at my bike and the wires for the fuel sender are black and yellow and white and yellow. Mine had a broken ground wire off the battery.would melt the wire when I pressed the start button. If I unplugged it it wouldn't turn over at all. These bikes have a complicated wiring harness and must be grounded properly

Yep, the ground wire off the battery to the frame was loose... What a shame this all would happen because of that.
