shaky tach
Am I the only one with a shaky tach? My tachometer tends to shake on the mount while the engine is running. It does not seem to effect the movement of the needle.

The tachs on both of my bikes do that, so i'm guessing its pretty common. They feel loose but the mounting nut is tight. Probably because there is no cable like the speedometer to help keep it from shaking. I put an extra washer under the mounting nut as a shim and that stiffened it up.
You should check to make sure none of the mounts holding it are broken.
You need to remove the whole assembly and pull the covers off where the mounting bar bolts up.
Another fix, (other than my "dash"
). is to find a stap of metal to bolt the two bottom bolts under the tach and speedo together....

I've been looking at various places and getting prices on costs....but had to put it on the back burner awhile do to personal crap.
I still hope to offer a limited run of them sometime this fall or before the holidays.
The issue is finding a place that can make them from 1/8" aluminum AND guaranty me that the finish will be perfect (free from scratches) as most folks end up painting them.
So at some point you'll see a post about them......if all goes well...

Thanks for the replies, maybe in the winter I'll look into adding washers behind the mount.

It's really no big deal. Took less than a half hour. And that's with me having to take everything back apart again after I finished and turned around to find I had two bolts left over.
