it would be easier to go to sears and get the maintainance free battery. 80 bucks out the door give or take a few dollars.

Aaaaa! Your mechanic needs to get his ducks in a row - I have one! Coulda brought it with the starter - sorry 'bout that. Tell him to come up with a list of any additional items you might need to get your new wheels running - I've got a garage full of parts and I'm really trying to clear out some space.

But folks are right, you can get a battery for about $80 at Sears or Battery Warehouse. Just make sure you get a maintenance-free one.

I bought this battery new in April '08, but I think the bike drained it because the starter motor was going out. After my mechanic put on the starter, he jumped the bike with cables. I tried to get the battery charged at the dealer, but it didn't really get any higher voltage. I jumped the bike and drove it around for about a half hour yesterday evening, then it cut off on me. So I realized I would have to buy another battery.

How much for yours? I assume the power is fine. I THINK the battery is all I need to get running fine. Trying to avoid buying another new battery right now (if I don't have to). Please let me know. THANKS!
