Unhappy Only starts in Jump start with new battery

So my bike was sitting in the garage (Milwaukee, WI) most of the winter.
Came spring, I got a new battery and gave it a full charge.
The strange thing is only starts when I jump start it.
I leave it on with a 2 to 3 RPM for a few minutes. and it might start again right away (no jump start). However, if I leave it off for 10 min, it only starts by jump starting.
Any clues of what the issue might be?

Get the battery load tested. Is it a AGM or regular wet battery?

Make sure to get a AGM battery (or better). The WalMart ones have not let me down. They're just rebranded YUASA.

This is almost humorous. This is the exact issue the previous owner said was the problem with the Vulcan I bought yesterday. I only bumped it to confirm it wasn't seized before bringing it home. This afternoon I try to start it, and smell something burning. Pulled the seat off and the brand new battery the PO installed is melting the negative terminal. Yup, autozone battery. I suspect the terminal wasn't tight and was arcing.
