mysterious kill switch installed by previous owner

I will try and post a pic tonight but I wanted to run this by y'all.

The last owner installed a kill switch into the box (don't know the name but it is a small panel screwed in with wiring inside on the right side, rear, toward the rear storage box). It definitely keeps kills the engine but my question is why is it there? The one on the handle bars works fine and the dealer I purchased it from didn't have any ideas. Kind of worries me.

I saw one of these once under the Thunderdome. Careful.

Anti-theft maybe. Leave the keys in, but won't start if you don't know about the hidden switch.

yea probably anti theft. people did that a lot in the past on cars, put a hidden switch in to prevent starting. one female friend from long ages ago had one on her car, had it wired to the door lock switch (power locks) so she was forced to lock her doors before starting it
