replaced cluster and found extra wire

So I replaced the entire cluster and the speedo gauge has a 4 wire connector coming off it. So I figured i'd just use the wiring from my old speedo (that's the 2 wire from mine) and now i'm getting the headlight indicator on and it wasn't before any ideas?

Looks like the extra wires go to some sort of rectangular either light or resistor. Could this have anything to do with the headlight indicator being lit up? Oh by the way if I leave the single wire loose that's in the headlight bucket (it's either white or gray) it light doesn't come on. Anyone run into this issue. I think the gauges came off an 85 and my bike is a 95.. .

if the cluster you installed was off of a bike with the auto cancel turn signals, that changes some of the wiring.

Figured out it was just bit of loose wiring. smacked the headlight once in frustration and it went off and stayed off so go figure. didn't come back on in 100+ miles today
