Quick and simple tach question

Hey guys,

Ive got an aftermarket speedo and speedo cable that I am going to put on my bike.
I am wanting to order the matching tach, but I am unsure if I should get the cable
driven one or the electric one.

My bike did not have a speedo or tach when I bought it. I havent found any documentation
indicating that the tach is a cable drive, and Im pretty sure the electric one is the one I need,
but I wanted to make sure before I placed the order.

Im rockin an 87 VN750A. Thanks guys!

I'll never understand why bike's (New sportsters for instance) don't come with a Tach. I watch my tach way way more than my speedo. That tells me everything I need to know.

Thanks! Now I can order the darn thing.

And I agree.. my sporty had a small digital tach on the speedo, but I spent way more time watching the tach than the actual speedo. Especially when I was learning go ride! It made knowing when to shift way easier until I got to know the bike.
