Question about wire from stator to harness

Why are the 3 wires (yellow) from the stator to the wire harness not enclosed in sheathing like most all the other wires? Also, anyone have a pic of where these wires run, mine come up near drive shaft boot. The connecters are exposed behind rear exhaust pipe,is this where they should be?Seems like not the best area to be unprotected.Thoughts?pics? Thanks

they usually have a black sheath of sorts for extra protection if yours is just 3 yellow wires from stator to bullet connections then someone has removed the sheath
