I was tinkerin around today and noticed a spark comeing from the spark plug cap. The throttle cable cover (spring lookin thing) was touching it. I fixed it by wrapping it with electrical tape, but what could have caused it? It was arcing through the rubber. Does any of this make sense?
On my 92 the hard plastic caps had deteriorated from age and the arc was coming from the seam where the two have were put together. If it is just the caps they are easy to replace as they screw on to the wires. You can get new ones from the dealer or search the archives as there are after market ones that fit.
