Pickup coil replacement question

I'm replacing my pick up coils, and failed to look at the two coils before removing them. Now I notice that one of the new pickup coils has a red line on it, which then led me to notice that there are different colored wires going into the two pickups. Is one supposed to go on top and one on the bottom? Which one? The manual is no help, and since engine removal is a pain I need to know before I can proceed. Any help?

When I was younger I was afraid I'd die riding. Now that I'm old and falling apart, I'm afraid I won't.

Garage
maybe you need to know how to use the manual.. it clearly states black/red wire going on top and black/yellow on bottom.
