Dyna Coils

Anybody using ignition coils from Dynatek? If so which ones?

http://www.dynaonline.com/english/sportbike_coils.htm

I was given a set of DC1-1 coils and was wondering if anyone has tried them and how they work. Thanks.

Give us a report if they do.

I was wanting to put some hi output coils to increase combustion for better fuel milage. I did this back in the 70's on some bikes (Accel car coils - dam ugly but what a difference) and was wondering if it would be worth it with today's technology.

Here's my report -

Got them on today and test rode it a bit. Wow - Big difference!! Very noticable increase in power and smoothness of the engine. Started right up even though it was about 40 degrees out.

I had to modify the coils to get them to mount up in the stock mounting holes. They actually bolted right up but the high voltage outputs were 90 degree off from where they needed to be. So I just drilled the holes 90 degrees and they worked great.

I'll try to post some pics later today.

Some FYI.....

At the Y! group, there have been reports of the Accel coils being bad news for the bike.

Here's one of those post's....

But others have said they've had no problems, so.... who knows??

About Accel Coils...
I remember needing to use ballast resistors on the + side of the coil wire. Some coils have them built in, some don't need it, but our bikes don't have much room (space) for automotive hi output coils anyway.

SCOOP:
FYI - The bikes that I converted to hi output coils had the same effect that you described. Easy starting, more power, and better fuel economy. CHECK your plugs, you may need to get colder ones to avoid burning holes in your pistons (been there, done that). The big advantage I experienced with my bikes was running up to redline and above (careful). The spark doesn't blow out at high rpm's and the engine will pull harder all the way up.

Yes, pics please.
