Hey Folks,

'94 with 40k on it. Been having a hard time keeping a charge on the battery and the shop thought it was the battery so it was replaced. The other day I go out and the cooling fan was running though the bike had been sitting for hours and the air temp was cool. I disconnected the fan and went on my ride (200 mile overnight) anyway...not smart, I know

At the furthest point away from home, the battery (new) is dead. Long story short - charged battery - quick run back - battery dead.

Charged the battery, reconnected the fan (spinning and hearing a funny squeak/buzz) but disconnect the cooling fan thermo switch and the fan continues to run and buzzing continues.

Buzzing can be felt at and seems to be from the juction box - remove main fuse - spinning /buzzing stops. Replace fuse - spin/buzz continues.
Remove either set of pin connectors from the junction box - spin/buzz stops -reconnect and buzz/spinning begins again.

Bad junction box?? Anything else I should be checking? I'm kinda new () to this working on a motorcycle so any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a stuck relay in the junction box. You can either try and fix it or replace it with a new one. Fixing it may not be practical as it is not designed to be torn apart but there are some here who have done it.

Thanks brother. That was my thought but better to ask than play the expensive game of switching out parts until I find the right one.
