HUGE electrical problem

ok so i was ridin a few min. ago and my bike shuts down. it blew the main fuse and the taillight fuse. when i put a new 1 in it blows it. i noticed there was a red wire w/ a blue line down it that was melted in the main harness. im gonna trace it now. could this be something major like a stator problem or something?

The wire probably shorted against the frame. Cut off the bad part and sodder in the new piece and tape. You should be okay.

First find out what that wire is, it mayhave just rubbet through due to vibration and melted when it shorted.

Dont use electrical tape. Use heat shrink tubing. Also, solder the splice, dont just twist the wires.
