Cooling Fan

Hi I am a new owner to a 95 Vulcan. I have only owned it for a week and noticed that when I shut it off after riding that a cooling fan kicks on for 5-10 seconds. Is this normal?

Yes that's normal.
You may soon realise that a common issue for these bikes is re-starting them when the engine is hot - like when you stop to re-fuel in the midddle of a journey.
You are strongly advised to fit a maintenance free battery, you might consider iridium spark plugs. If it persisits and its troublesome then look up the stator threads on the site. In simple terms its caused by heat int he electrics
Its a lovely bike

The engine will get hotter for a few minutes when you shut if off. That’s why the fan kicks on and will shut down when it cools down
