Easy Ignition Switch question

I have 92 750, with no owners manual, what is the 'P' on the ignition switch for??? For the life of me I can't figure this one out. Thanks
Mike

P is for Park. Kind of misleading really.
What it does is locks the steering, turns the tail and license plate lights on, turns the turn signal circuit on and cuts all other electrical circuits off.
