I haven't noticed it on our bikes, but some bikes have a "parking light" feature so that if you're stuck on the side of the road, your lights stay on. PUt the key back in, turn it to the usual "off" position (the parking light position is elsewhere on the 360)- if they don't go out after that, ya got me!

It's a 91 vulcan. They finally went out, but it makes me wonder if it's a wire short some where.

That's weird! I thought somebody else posted the same or similar problem a month or two ago. I think the resolution turned out to be a faulty ignition switch. It wasn't actually making the correct "off"/"on" contacts inside the switch itself.

I saw one on e-bay and a couple of complete lock sets also. When you look at things on there for a vulcan sometimes they are parting out the entire bike and request you contact them for additional parts. If you find one of those auctions just click on ask seller a ? and inquire about the ignition switch if it has a goood one.

Today I did the relocation of the R&R. It turned out really nice but I noticed one lead inside the plug looked like it has been very hot, burnt. Would this have any effect on the lights. The electrical system on a bike can't be to confusing.. Right?

I don't remember, do the rear turn signals stay on like parking lights? Since my lights staying on issue which hasnt happened again, the turn signals work but there's no constant on... What do you think?

The rear turnsignals are not on while running, they only turn on with the signal.

That's right, two wire rear, blinker only, three wire fronts, running lights and blinker.
