Check your grounds - - - - - - - -

When doing my R&R mod I took the time to put dielectric grease on the remaining contacts and terminals that I didn't get around to last
Winter, and I also checked the grounds.

The person at the assembly factory who was suppose to grind off the paint where the ground is supposed to be placed was indolent and did a poor job on my bike leaving more paint than bare metal causing a weak ground.

After the R&R mod I've noticed that my bike sounds better, runs smoother and has more power after removing the partial painted surface at the grounding points with a file and steel wool.

Good point Norsseman, I noticed similar ground points when I did my r/r/r and the coil mod. Also found some rusty or corroded connections on the starter relay. I used the wire brush dremmel tool (wear safety glasses using this thing as it shoots tiny wire pieces everywhere!) to clean all the surfaces.

Hmm, the ground grinder musta been taking lessons from the spline luber !!
I got a MF battery coming this weekend, so I'll double check mine then.
Thanks for the heads-up
