Question LED Spinners on ebay?

Has anyone here had any experience with the LED spinner type brake lights that are always on ebay? Are they even legal, and/or where can I go to find out if they're legal. I looked on DOT's web page yesterday and couldn't find any reference that applied.

As always, any help would be appreciated.

You might call your state's Dept of Public Safety, and ask them about it.

Contact info for them can be found on the following page:

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/Misc/faq/bulb.htm

And then compare that answer to whatever answer you get from the light's vendor.

If the vendor is honest and up to speed (as they should be), the answers should be the same....

Hey T

The only thing I have heard (don't remember where or from whom) that they are pretty visible at night, but not a visible as the stock brake light in the daytime.

Thanks Joe, I'm looking for visibility in the day and night time, so even if they were legal it sounds like it wouldn't be a good option.

From what I've experienced thus far elsewhere, the only type of rear-facing light pattern that's legal apart from the norm is a tail-lamp modulator.

Past that, the kind that you've asked about is usually just for bike shows (and such) only--and is not legal for street use.
