NGK Iridium Spark plugs don't fit???

Hey all, it came time for me to change my plugs, and based on the recommendations all over the forum I went down to Advance Auto and sprung for a set of NGK iridium plugs. I was sure to get the exact part number everyone else cited (DPR7EIX-9), but when I got back home I pulled the first plug out of the box and it was obvious that it clearly doesn't fit the bike. Specifically, the post is too large for the terminal- in fact it looks like a completely different type of connection.

My bike is an '04 vn750, one previous owner. Is there some kind of variance on the electrical systems in these bikes that could explain the different posts? Did NGK change their plugs? Could it be that the previous owner d*cked around with the electrical system and changed the terminals? If anyone can shed some light on this it'd be much appreciated.

This eBay page with the plugs for sale actually shows exactly what I'm talking about. If you view the full description, you'll see 2 pictures of the plugs. The first picture (where the plug is vertical), you can see the type of post that my old plugs have and fit the bike. The 2nd picture, (where the plug is horizontal) you can clearly see a completely different post, which is what is on the plugs I just bought. What gives???

You just unscrew that connection off. If it's hard use some pliers.

Don't feel bad because that exact issue was addressed on this forum once before from someone else thinking as you did that they were the wrong plugs.

Yes. Don't feel bad. Your just one in a long line of "idiots" that had the same problem. There is no instructions packed with the plugs to let you know the tips screw off.
Luckily you came here and were clued in before you went ballistic on some poor guy at Advance Auto for selling you the wrong plug...
