I had this same problem... but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was... I think it had to do with the safety switches not being hooked up.

I recall this problem being solved in the past year, but don't recall whom or what fixed it.

Searched and found one old thread from 2008 where the owner installed a toggle switch. He would start the bike, hold start, then open the toggle switch to get it to stay running. The most recent fix was simpler I believe.

It may have something to do with the safety switches and wiring.

Or maybe the kill switch?

Someone here fixed this in 2013. The problem I found in a search, nobody ever posted the solution.

That's the search I used here, start sifting or change the search terms and use fewer words? The answer is here somewhere.

x2
It was suspected to be in the start controls, turned out to be in either the wiring harness (bad connector issue) or one of the relays.....
I cannot remember which for sure, but iirc a connector under the tank at the neck ?
hope this helps

I know for sure, loose spade connectors in the Junction Box plugs can affect a lot of things, I tightened all of mine and fixed the fan.

Here's a thread from '08 that seems to indicate it was a fried Junction Box, see page two: https://www.vn750.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7490&page=2

From looking at his old posts, looks like he did get it going. Slim? Ring any bells?

A new search to sift through:

yes it does... Bulwinkle ended up sending me his JB for me to look into it more. I found two burnt safety switch diodes along with a bad relay (can't remember which one it was, but I am thinking Starter) Once I soldered in new relays and didoes the bike lived once a gain.
