Speedo/Tach Lights--What's the Bulb # ???

Anybody know what the actual bulb # is for the speedo/Tach lights. It looks like a #194 only a lot smaller.
The only writing on it says "12V 3W" so it's obviously a 3 watt bulb.

Anybody ever attempted white or red LED lights in place of these?
I'm going to Radio Shack tomorrow and check out 12V LED lights--if there are any.

Picked up some 12V LED's @ Radio Shack, but they only had red. They are not bright enough to light up the speedo or tach. They didn't have my 12V 3W bulb either. Going to Weaver Auto parts tomorrow to see if they have it.

I'll keep an eye open on e-bay for some "super bright" 12V LED's. If I find anything that works I will post my findings.

These may be what you're looking for. There are a whole bunch of LED sites out there. I had a bunch of links from my RC helecopter site. It's just a matter of time before I start making replacements for our bulbs, turn signal, running. The only thing that can't feasibly be replaced with LEDs is the headlamp.

Dianna-- Thank you for the bulb #'s. I looked thru the Kawasaki repair manual but it did not give replacement bulb #'s

Foxhound--Great web site--thank you. I am ordering 4 of the #74 bulbs in white (2 for tach and 2 for speedo) I am also ordering an LED license plate bulb. I'll let you know how they work.

I purchased some for $1.66 ea. & $5.00 S/H from Hong Kong on e-bay, however I ordered them in blue. They work good but need to be a little brighter. I ordered some wide angle white ones and will try them

If it is a #74, you can get them in parts stores. Autozone's are 2.99 for a pair.

My mistake, I see I posted them at 1.66 ea. It's actually 1.66 for a pair. I ordered 3 sets. Total w/ s/h was 9.56
The nearest Auto Zone to me is over 20 miles. I stopped at a different one last week and they were out of the #74 bulb. I don't know why but none of the local parts stores in a 15 mile radius of me covering 3 different cities do not stock LED bulbs. I can't speak for Napa however--I refuse to shop there, everytime I call for Auto parts they are always more expensive than their competitors. I haven't stepped foot in their store for over 6 years, yet I still call and give them a chance to change that--oh well. How do they stay in bussiness?

I installed the wide angle bright white LED's. They actually work pretty well. I don't know why the tach is not showing up very well. It is actually almost as bright as the speedo. Took pics w/ no flash. The first was no headlight the second was w/ headlight on.
