Coil Question

So...I've come to find that I'm needy and know nothing :-D I love you guys! :-D hahaha. Anysnootch, I hate to ask simple questions...but...where do I find the coils and how do I test them? I've never done this one before and might just change them out 'cause the bike sat for a while and is old...On a brighter note...I'm gettin' the wheels off today and changing the oil (Rotella T 5W40), gear oil (Mobile 1 75W90), brake fluid (DOT4), and coolant (I haven't found a good fluid for that one yet. Don't trust Walmarts mechanics. Will get some when I get the wheels done). Wish me luck!

There are two coils. The rear cylinder's is mounted just in front of the battery box. The front cylinder's is mount under the left side plastic covers in front of the gas tank.

Use any aluminum safe coolant.

Jon. I've come to discover that you know too much. Hahaha pop quiz for ya...do you know what size clear tubing to use to bleed the brakes with? Thanks a lot for the help...it is DEFINITELY appreciated...OH I literally JUST got the rear tire off...the splines....look awesome! WOO HOO!!

I only know what I know from having to fix something along the way. But thanks. I like to help, it helps to propagate (sp) our little world here.

I usually buy the el cheapo one-man bleeder thing from auto store that doesn't work. But they are cheap (like $3) and come with just the right size clear tubing.

Great news about the splines. Be sure you grease'em up real good before re-assembly. Should last 10K miles or a new rear tire, whichever comes first.

Any grease you would recommend? I know they say anything that's 60% moly but I haven't seen anything that actually says that. Personal recommendations?

Go to your local Honda dealer, they sell a tube of 60% moly for about $ 10.

I am sure there are other choices, perhaps someone else will jump in with them.

I used a 3/16 ID hose to bleed the brakes, and, like Jon, used the Honda moly. Good stuff, and affordable!
