New Part Number for Kaw R/R

In checking the parts listing and price comparisons for Rick's R/R and Kaw's, I noticed that the part number has been changed. Instead of 21066-1055 it is now 21066-1101. Could this mean that after a couple of decades of bad design, Kaw finally redesigned the thing or is it just a number swap? Normally with a part number change, something with the part had to change with it. This is assuming a certain degree of logic on Kaw's part though.
Ron Ayers price is still the same at $53.94 plus shipping.

Interesting..
I show 21066-1055 for the 86-93 models on Ron Ayers fiche
and 21066-1089 for the 94-06 models

I used the "Where does this part fit?" search on the left hand side. Mo matches for the 21066-1101 part number though.
Partnumber 21066-1101, , fits 0 models:
Bike Frame

So it appears that there was some change starting in 94

Hmm, going by a parts list at Riva Motorsports the ones for older bikes ('93 & older) are $108.65, and for newer bikes ('94 & up) it's $142.55 ??!!
They only go by PN 21066
Ron Ayers has a price difference too (both are cheaper than Riva, but still a good bit different between the two)

So, I wonder which one should be better?
More $$'s doesn't always mean better quality.

When going through the Ayer's fiche, I went to Generator and then selected the 21066 part. Once it took me to the 21066-1055 page and the price, it says at the bottom that this part has been superseded by part 21066-1101. Same price. This is for a 93. I didn't look at newer models.
Now having looked up a 2000, the part number is different and the price is higher at 124 or so. Is there a difference or did they just do a bait and switch?
