#2 coil isn't firing...No tests as of yet.

Yeah, the rear coil seems to have quit. I might get a bright spark with ignition, but nothing while cranking. I left the bike in frustration after a day of working on it, so I haven't tested anything. I can always just ground the secondary side to check the coil, but I figure it could be an electronic ignition problem, like something somewhere is unplugged, but the coil leads are there. Coil quit firing while it was running.

Could it be a pickup coil, module, or do these items usually result in catastrophic loss of fire all the way around?

try swapping the front and rear coils.... also check contiunity on the wires..... but i think the coil just needs replacing, the rear coil seems prone to dying. must be sucking too much heat form the rear jug.


and typically if any of the latter happens, as far as i know it is a catastropic loss...

Thanks. I might have a coil lying about to fit it. It's the same thing as a 4cyl coil, just with the leads out the side.
