turn signal bulbs

Had a turn signal burn out on my on the way home today. Got her in the garage, pulled the stock bulb figuring I'd have to go get one at the store, but it looked REALLY familiar.

Turns out the Sylvania #1057 turn signal bulbs for my 4Runner are the same size, voltage and wattage as the 1023 turn signal bulbs for a Vulcan 750.

Who'da thunk it?

You have 1023s in your turn signal?
Usual are 1157 (dual filament. running and turn) for front, 1156 for rear (single filament for turn only)

The bases are different between the 1156 and 1157. Bases are different between an 1157 and a 3057 (3057 is a blade base bulb)

1157s are usually 12V 27/8W, 1156 are 12V 27W (give or take a bit on the Ws)

But I can't find a 1023 bulb, 1157s and 1057s are the same as far as I know.

If it is the same base (push, twist, lock) then it might work

uh, yeah...1023 single filament 12v/23W in the rear.

Alright, I'll go check the numbers again...maybe I typed them wrong?

So, I like I said, I had to go check the bulb numbers.

I totally got them wrong when I typed that message...in fact I'm embarassed to say how much I screwed them up.

Ok, I got the old bulb out of the garbage can. It was 1073...not 1023.

The bulb I put in was an 1156, not 1057. I do have 1056, 1057, and 1156 bulbs in my spare parts drawer...so umm, yeah, that's it, I remembered the wrong number.

Yeah...and I was tired.

and ...ummm...

LOL

Actually, I do this kind of thing all the time, switching numbers around in my head...which is why I usually write things down. But I didn't this time, rationalizing that I'd remember between the garage and the computer.

Anyway, as funny as this thread is... I wouldn't want to confuse anyone with my ...umm, psuedo-dyslexia. Should I ask the admin to delete it?
