running bike with no battery

Ok, here's what I got. I know I essentially have a bad battery too, but the other day while I had it out I took my Jumpit and started the bike up. The problem is when I turned the switch off on the Jumpit the bike cut off. I did the charging check per Denny and everything checked good. I remember from working on cars that you could check the system out by disconnecting the battery and see if the car still runs. Is there something different on the bike or do I have another problem?

From what I remember being told. This bike anyway, needs a voltage source aka a battery or your jumper to run. When you eliminate that source, it won't run.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I've got it right.
Denny's a good source to help you trouble shoot electrical stuff. I'd trust what advice & guidance he gives.
