Question Alarm sound at highway speed

While ridin my bike at highway speeds (40+mph) I start to hear a whining noise, almost like an alarm sound, coming from my Guage cluster area. Any idea what this mean?

It's more of an electronic noise. Almost like an alarm

Bearings and other moving parts tend to make noises when colder weather hits....the inside of the housing is a good echo chamber so it may sound worse than it really is.

Unfortunately, the OP from the thread that Okiebezer posted never told us about what he did to resolve it.

I would lube the cable and make sure that all moving parts are clean and oiled or greased. ALSO make sure your not actually hearing the front wheel bearing...that is known to squeal in cold temps.

Please let us know what you find and how you fix it.

I got my bike with a non-working speedometer cable. When I bought a new one and installed it, I took off and the bike made a noise from the instrument panel, similar to what the video posted shows... I think mine was quite louder though. After a couple blocks, my speedometer was no longer working lol.

Since mine had not been used for a loooong time, I think it was just dirty inside... I should have cleaned it or something before I used it. Or maybe that's why they took off the speedometer cable to begin with.

Yeah it must be something from the speedo because mine likes to not work at random times.
