Electrically retarded

Hey all, I've been pretty busy moving and working and when I finally got some spare time I figured that a long dark winter is coming so I'm going to completely overhaul the engine on my 01, i'm stripping it all the way down to just a frame no wires at all, my plan is to completely rewire the bike as I don't know what pieces are compromised from sitting out in the rain and snow for 3 years, all I want is a electric start, headlight, taillight, and probably rear signals, I know Slim reworked his whole system but haven't been able to find that thread yet... I guess I'm just trying to get an idea on how those of u who are more electrically gifted than I would wire this thing up, the battery box is total garbage, along with fuse box, igniter, and rectifier. I usually look at something mechanical and see how it works, but wiring always confuses the heck outta me!! Thanks guys

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^That is not my bike just what I have in mind for my project.

I replied to his PM... but I am not sure exactly what you are looking for Bruiser. I thought that my diagram was pretty self explanatory.

Hey slim what u sent was fine, I kinda feel like u are talking down to me a little bit, I appreciate your knowledge and all u do for the members here, but I'm trying to learn a few things about wiring as I go and I thought u would be the one to ask, so don't be an a-hole especially with "If you don't ask questions you never learn. If you never learn you don't evolve. If you don't evolve you buy a Hardley " in all your posts, however if I'm out of line I'm sorry and I'll owe you a beer.

I am not trying to talk down to you.. I said I don't understand what you are asking. Your PMs are very vague at best. I asked you lots of questions in our pm's... you never once answered any of them.

Are you going to run a cooling fan?
What Voltage Regulator/Rectifier are you running (stock style or MOSFET)?
Are you running the stock ignition system?
Are you using the stock ignition switch?
Are you planning to use LED bulbs, or incandescent?
What kind of headlight are you going to use? standard H4, HID, LED?
Are you going to want to add accessories like a phone charger or a GPS?

You asked me for a key (I am assuming legend) for my Wiring Diagram. I replied if it wasn't labeled on the diagram then it was labeled in the Online Service Manual.

and then after I try to give you advice so you can ask questions in return you send me a very derogatory PM and then the public message posted above. I don't know how to help ya brother...

As the author of the quote, it was/is intended to be taken "tongue in cheek" as I think most people take it.

And Slim ..... I'm still waiting for the royalties lol.
