Front brake light circuit

I have tried searching the archives for previous postings about the front brake light switch not working. I was wondering if anyone found or knows of a place were one of the front brake light wires gets broken. My switch is good, I have continuity from the switch all the way to the bulkhead connector. I going to have to take the gas tank off before I can look any further. The brake light still works from the rear brake pedal. I'm thinking of bypassing the bulkhead connector and making a new connector for the two wires for the front brake light because at times I have found that if I unplug the bulk head connector and put it back together, the light will work from the front brake light switch again temporarily. I know I saw somewhere on here that someone had encountered a broken wire in this circuit but I CANNOT find this thread. I'm an automotive technician and usually when a vehicle of one type has a fault, the cause for every other subsequent vehicle is the same for the same problem. Eventually I will remove the tank, but not until fall or winter because I love riding my bike.

I'd have to say tracing the wire is the only option for finding a break in it. You might check close to the "bulk head" connector as it temporarily works when you mess with it. What ever it is, you are adjusting it when you're messing around there.

I'd carefully inspect the contacts there too. It might not be getting a good contact in the connector.
If you don't have a copy of the free repair manual (which has wiring diagrams) you can download it from my signature.

Good Luck!
