Battery Issues

The battery on my '97 keeps dying on me. She drives normal and fine and then all of a sudden she wont start. Starts to turn, then click click click. I've gotten a jump and it runs fine for about a week or so....then it happens again.

I currently have the fan on a switch hooked directly to the battery but I make sure to turn the switch off every single time I'm off of her. I even went as far as to not use the fan at all and she still died.

Any suggestions?

The battery is fairly new and the starter is brand new.

I think most of us have had better luck with the MF Gel batteries... I know I have, and believe they are worth the bit extra...

Thx,

i have a normal cheap one in it for the moment, since i need to start it no and then during the project.
Once it is finished (will take some time) i will opt for the better Gel version.

Good one can be found Advanced Auto. I got the MagnaPower 12-Volt Sealed AGM. It's the ETX15L that has 220 Cold Cranking Amps. Got it in Jan of 2011 and haven't had any problems with it. Runs about $75 for it. Comes dry, got to add the acid and give it a 20 minute charge, but that can be done at most of the stores I I think.

And if you get one that needs charging, always good to give it a "top off" charge before the first use anyway, charge it at a slow rate. The battery will thank you for it later.
