Self cancelling turn signals 2005 VN750

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to remembering to turn off my turn signals, and was wondering:
Would this unit be compatable with the 2005 Vulcan 750?
If so, Any special mod instructions?

1980-1982 LTD750 KAWASAKI KZ CSR SHAFT SPECTRE SELF CANCELLING TURN SIGNAL K297

It's available on ebay and I'll get it if it's usable on my bike.(2005)

Any advice is welcome

The self canceling unit was removed 89 or 90 I believe. I am not 100% sure what modification were made to the stock wiring harness and junction box, but it MIGHT not be plug and play. Also, I am wondering if the switch on the handlebars differs slightly to allow the canceling unit to disengage it.

Funny fact, if you re-route your stator wires around the stock harness (bypassing it completely, except for headlight relay, like during a MOSFET install), bikes with the self canceling unit will have it stop functioning. I guess it is switched by one of the stator leads like the headlight is.

Sounds like it would be a small hassle to get it working on your bike. May have to swap out a the harness (or modify it) and JB. Maybe KM or SVR may have more insight into the electrical differences between the two.

its not plug and play... you would need a new wiring harness, junction box, and a few other parts.

Wooeeee~ guess I'll just put my mind in gear and get used to manually returning the switch...they could at least have put a push-return switch on the dang bike! oh well... And thanks for the quick replies, guys!

I have the stock self-cancelling on my 85....after riding in all kinds of conditions though (rain, snow, dirt roads, etc), sometimes they work, sometimes not...I'll get into there one of these days with some 3-36 and clean em out a bit...they ARE nice to have at times, but at times also cancel too soon...cop pulled me over fer not signalling once (I knew him)...I blamed it on Ma Kaw...signal turned off just before the intersection...
Note though, and its an easy mod...you can hook up a small beeper inline with yer signals that will sound when they are on...ya mount it up by the bars, as it is not all that loud...
This is my first bike with signals lights I think, lol...
