LED turn signals

I'm changing my turn signals to leds. The problem is they are currently 3 wire running lights and I'm changing them to 2 wire and when I try to wire them up they no longer blink. Can anyone help me solve my problem?

I assume you are talking about the fronts.....they are running lights and turn signals.
You need a 3 wire turn signal.

Why are you replacing the originals? were they broken, or you just want LED's?

are you using an Electronic Flashing unit? the stock Flasher is thermal and requires incandescent bulbs in order to flash.. and you need to use three wire LED's as the above people stated.

you can, but in some states it might not be legal for the front signals to not have running lights.
I would want the extra visibility for safety.

If your front stalks are in good shape, I make in insert LED board that you can just plug into the existing connector. they are plug and play boards that fit into the stock lenses. you can see them in my album.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish, and why are you replacing the existing ones?

I just wanted smaller turn signals and I also wanted leds so that would pull less wattage. I know that one of the wires are for your running lights. And I also have an electronic flasher relay on the way. I would rather have the running lights but I don't want to spend a lot of money one them either.

I have never heard of a state that requires running lights on the front. But I could be wrong.
A 2 wire can be used on the front, you just need to wire it correctly.
A lot of older bikes never had the front running lights.
I like to be seen as well, so lights up front would be a welcome thing for me.
My next step is to get a set of front signals to set up for running/turn on the back. All I need to do is find red lenses. Or better yet clear lenses with red LED's.

Arlon,
You can just wire them and tape off the running light wire if that is what you want to do.

I converted my rear stalks to have the running lights as well by replacing the existing socket with ones to accept 1157 bulbs. they now mimic the front stalks.
I made my own LED boards and am using red lenses to keep it legal. Red LED's in the center of the board are for running lights, and the outer ring of LED's are amber for the turn signal. They work well and the amber LED's come through the red lens well. I have had comments of how visible they are in daylight and VERY noticeable at night with the running lights on.
photos of my boards and setup are in my album....if you are looking for a set, PM me and I can make some plug and play boards for you at a reasonable price.
