Turn Signal "rubber Stems"...

I need to replace (or repair)the rubber shock absorbing turn signal "Stems" on my 1986 model....
Is there a known repair or a source for a stock or aftermarket replacement?

Thanks for any help .....

Andy

Search the threads.... (i think) it was Slim who repaired his with a "Bic" pen casing...(threw away the ink portion).
Also, I have seen "after market" Rubber Signal Mount Stems online.
hope this helps

As a matter of fact I do. Bic Pens, chewing gum, paperclips... The list goes on and on for my quick impromptu fixes. I once made a thermostat housing for a Diesel engine out of JB weld..

Thanks All...
Sorry but I just found the responses....I thought I'd get email notifications....
.....But I still haven't found the lights for less than around $35...And
I guess I'm not searching right for the stems....
...Bic Pen? Are you talking about putting a hollow "Tube" inside of the broken rubber?

Thanks Again....
Andy

I have a question on the VN750 signal lights... I was looking at mine on my 06 "Clyde" before I wrecked it and seeing the sag in them had planned to check or try to switch them out, left to right & right to left, which would turn the sag up wouldn't it...???
Could that be done...???
Have a good one...Old Dog...

Yes you can switch them from one side to the other, but I doubt the results will be permanent.

I went with .09 wall 1/4 OD stainless tubing (cut with a plumbers tubing cutter length to fit...) inside to remove the sag. Worked great for a few weeks, but...

...but since this is very rigid and the recess inside the rubber mount doesn't go thru into the lens housing, the rubber snapped of at the housing. Still no sag, but not very good dangling by the wires. The shock absorber design works for a reason I guess. Still don't like it, but...

Parts Unlimited carries the K & S Technologies replacements. 2 wire for rear without running lights,. 3 wire for front.

$35 a piece seems steep, but if they last 20 year like the originals, it brings the cost / year down to something bearable.

New signals on the rear...

Yeah, it's a 454 not a 750, turn signals are the same tho...

No matter where you go, there you are...
