Test Reserve Lighting Unit

Is there anyway to test the reserve lighting unit, dissconnected or with power applied? There is a chance mine might be fried, but need to test/find out. When I got the bike, the headlight was hard wired. I wired it properly and have nothing, running or not. No dim, bright or either indicator lights. Thanks in advance!

I can't think of a test, but you can bypass it by jumping the Blue wire to the blue/yellow at the RLU connector.... that should tell you if the unit is bad.

it sounds more like the headlight relay which is inside the JB. Take a Testlight to make sure you have power going into and out of the RLU with the bike running. if there isn't power making it into the RLU, its the relay. IF you have power in, but no power out, its the RLU.
