Any idea's if this is an eletrical issue and where?

Got on the freeway and got up to 70mph bike started sputtering like it was not getting fuel (thought I was having POGS again) tach was all over the place and my brights headlampe indicator on my dash was flickering. Bike did continue to run at 75-80mph with only the tach bouncing around after the initial freeway entrance. Finally got her close to home and was on side streets. When taking off from a light bike would sputter again like it was not getting fuel. Finally when I cruising and praying I would make it home it died on me and left me out to dry on the side of the rode. At this point could not even get lights on dash. Started messing around with this and that. If I would turn the wheel to the right lights would flicker. If I would mess with brake lever or cables lights would flicker. Was able to get it to start a couple of times and it would run for like 15 seconds before stalling. At this point if I can get the lights to come on I can crank her over with no luck, if I hold the clutch lever in and try and crank her over I get nothing. Any help I can get from the masters on this page would be greatly appreciated.

I guess the first thing is to check all battery and ground connections. Bad grounding can lead to some crazy weird stuff.

just a shot in the dark but.....check the connections in the KILL switch and in the headlight bucket. I could be wrong but even if the kill switch was open, I think the lights should still come on.

Sounds like a loose or flaky connection somewhere. My guess is it might be ignition switch related.

You may want to take the ignition switch apart and clean the connections in there as well.This has been a somewhat frequent problem that causes the kind of symptoms you describe.

This happened to me when my battery teminal leads were loose. Pull your seat off and check that 1st.

Years ago a neighbor called me over because his car wouldn`t start. Was completely dead. I opened the hood and grabbed both battery terminal connections to make sure they were tight. One wasn`t. I pushed down and twisted it on tight. Told Frank to try starting it now. Starter whirred, engine started, vroom. Total time expended from opening hood to engine running was maybe 10 seconds. Frank was amazed. Easiest, quickest diagnosis and fix I ever made. Oh, I did take another minute to tighten the terminal clamp properly.
