Question Battery Maintainer 500mA

Have ordered a sealed battery, but am still using the wet cell and need
to now if when using very small amperage to maintain or (charge) do the
battery caps have to be removed?

The Battery Maintainer I have came from JC Whitney and is only 500mA,
the amperage going in is so little that even after leaving it on for 8 hours
I don't see any bubbles coming up, so in my mind it might be OK to leave
the battery caps on?

The Battery Maintainer is working because I can hear the faint sound it
makes when putting it close to my ear.

The wet cells have a vent so you shouldn't have to remove the caps when you charge withe a battery maintainer. You still should remove the caps weekly to make sure the water level is correct.
