Upgrade headlight bulb

I've been searching for an answer for this on these forums and Google... Maybe this will benefit someone else too:

I like the stock headlight, but not the bulb. The light is a little weak and always has been. It's more of an old-school warm low-penetrating glow.

As I have recently found out, the charging system is a bit fragile, so I'd prefer to keep the power draw on the bulb as close to stock as possible. All other lighting components are stock.

Does anyone have any recommendations? It looks like the OEM bulb is a 9003 running at 55 and 60 watts for low and high beam at a 4000K color (correct me if I'm wrong). I guess what I'm looking for is "I tried XYZ bulb and was really disappointed" or "I use ABC bulb and it pulls the same as the OEM part but much better visibility"

PIAA has an H4 Xtreme White Plus it states is a 55/60W at 4000K with the light output of a 100/110W for $75 for a two pack.... a bit pricey I think... but maybe it's really that much better? I don't see a one bulb pack.

Also a H4 Intense White 55/60W = 125/135W at 4100K a little cheaper for $65 per two pack.

Power consumption is a dumb way to rate bulbs honestly, but who am I to change that?

Some of the above info come from right here under the "Headlight" section:

Nevermind. I can't figure out how to delete this whole post. I called PIAA and just gonna go buy one. It's $50 and they assured me it pulls the same power (current) as the OEM bulb. The nice lady said the double light output comes from the gas they use.

H4 Xtreme White Plus, P#70456 $50 for one bulb.

I got to thinking there really no way for anyone to tell me how great a particular bulb is, so I'll just give it a shot. Also, I'm gonna see about putting an ammeter on both bulbs and take a picture at night with both. Maybe that'll help someone.

Garage
The xtreme white is the way to go. A cheaper alternative is the Silver star, but not heard how well it works in the Vulcan.

There is a post somewhere about H.I.D lighting you should check out ...

I bought a china-mart Silverstar 9003/HB2 ST a few months back and it is much brighter than the stock headlamp. That said, there could still be the tendancy for one to easily overdrive the light. I feel that I could use more light...maybe a light bar addition and/or HID conversion would be better. But no other complaints with the Silverstar so far.

Do you have a part number for the one you ordered, scuba? Is it the one linked above? I have a harbor freight near me and I need a bulb. Thanks
