Upgrade headlight bulb
I've been searching for an answer for this on these forums and Google... Maybe this will benefit someone else too:
I like the stock headlight, but not the bulb. The light is a little weak and always has been. It's more of an old-school warm low-penetrating glow.
As I have recently found out, the charging system is a bit fragile, so I'd prefer to keep the power draw on the bulb as close to stock as possible. All other lighting components are stock.
Does anyone have any recommendations? It looks like the OEM bulb is a 9003 running at 55 and 60 watts for low and high beam at a 4000K color (correct me if I'm wrong). I guess what I'm looking for is "I tried XYZ bulb and was really disappointed" or "I use ABC bulb and it pulls the same as the OEM part but much better visibility"
PIAA has an H4 Xtreme White Plus it states is a 55/60W at 4000K with the light output of a 100/110W for $75 for a two pack.... a bit pricey I think... but maybe it's really that much better? I don't see a one bulb pack.
Also a H4 Intense White 55/60W = 125/135W at 4100K a little cheaper for $65 per two pack.
Power consumption is a dumb way to rate bulbs honestly, but who am I to change that?
